Mix 2 parts clear with 1 part activator stir until mixed then add 5% thinner to clear/activator total volume and mix well. For example: 6ml of clear to 3ml of activator and then add 0.5 ml of thinner to the mix.

Use medical grade mixing cups and pipettes for mixing. Do not use syringes, they contain silicone lubricant that will contaminate the clearcoat. Do not use pipettes more than once and don’t contaminate each bottle with used pipettes.  Keep bottles sealed and use within 3 months once opened.

APPLICATION:

Spray at 20-25psi. Apply a semi wet first coat, allow 5 minutes to flash off then apply a full wet coat. Let settle for 60 seconds and if imperfections can be seen apply a further light coat, wait 60 seconds and reapply another coat until glass smooth. At 20◦c finish is Dust dry in 1 hour, touch dry in 5 hours and cured in 4-5 days. For clean-up use ProScale thinners.

All ProScale Paints dry matt and require clear coating unless specified.

APPLICATION:

Our paints are pre-thinned for Airbrush use. Shake container until paint is thoroughly mixed. Also shake when adding paint between coats.

Spray at 10 - 20 psi, apply light alternating cross coats until sufficient coverage is obtained. 5-8 light coats are usually sufficient. Allow 5 mins between coats for flash off time and repeat till full coverage is obtained. For clean-up use ProScale thinners.

DESCRIPTION.

ProScale Chrome Effect Paint is specifically designed to give a mirror-like chrome appearance.

Please follow the process below to get the best results. You may wish to perform a plastic spoon test first.

Step 1

Prepare the model/parts in the usual manner and apply a black primer coat. 

Step 2

When dry, apply a clearcoat in the usual way with ProScale Paints 2k system. DO NOT touch the clearcoat. Allow a minimum of 6 hours drying time.

Step 3

The Chrome Effect Paint can now be applied. DO NOT touch the clearcoat otherwise fingerprints and/or scratches may become visible in the chrome finish. Apply the chrome with 0.3 airbrush at 18psi and apply 3 light/medium coats of chrome in an even application with a 5 minute flash off between coats. The chrome should dry quickly between coats. If in cold conditions the chrome needs to be applied in lighter coats. Please note: Over application will result in loss of chrome effect.

Step 4

When the chrome has been applied, allow to dry for 30 minutes at room temperature. 

Step 5

When the chrome has dried, apply 2-3 very light mist coats of the chrome sealer. This is essential to ensure the chrome like appearance is maintained. Allow to dry until matt and leave 20 minutes before clearcoat. The chrome like appearance will be lost at this point but will return when clear coated. Use ProScale Paints Pre-Paint Degreaser or any alcohol-based airbrush cleaner to clean airbrush after sealing.

Step 6

Mix ProScale Paints 2k clearcoat system (2:1 with NO thinner). Apply a mist coat followed by a full wet coat. The mirror like appearance will return after a few minutes. Allow clearcoat to dry for minimum of 6 hours before handling.

DESCRIPTION

Our flip paints are a special colour changing paint that has been specifically developed to ensure a great colour change from one colour to another when viewed at different angles.

APPLICATION

For best results use our Deep Black paint (PS-2217) as an undercoat followed by applying our Colour Flip Paint, in in light coats until the desired effect is achieved. The paint is already thinned for airbrush use.

Our Micro Primer Filler is Airbrush ready. Shake container until paint is thoroughly mixed.

Key model surface with 3000 grade sanding sponge, degrease model with ProScale Pre-Paint Degreaser, then Spray at 20-25psi, apply alternating cross coats until sufficient coverage is obtained.

DO NOT APPLY WET COATS OF PRIMER!

Allow 5 mins between coats for flash off time, 3-4 light coats should be sufficient. Sandable after 2 hours. Flat back with 2500 wet and dry or 3000 grade sanding sponges until smooth finish is obtained. Then apply base colour. For use with plastic styrene and Resin parts. For clean-up use ProScale thinners.
